Tracy Fall is the new Cleburne County Family and Consumer Science Agent at the Cleburne County Extension Office.
Raised in Heber Springs, Tracy and her husband were ready to come home after working in other parts of the state. “My family is from here, my husband’s family is from here, so we came here,” she said. “I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences at UCA and worked for the Extension Office for a year in Izard County.”
Tracy left the Extension Office to pursue other interests, but came back to the Extension Office because of programs offered to communities. “I came back (to working for the Extension Office) because the topics I covered are important to me, such as nutrition and family,” she said. “I want to help the community.”
Tracy has been the Cleburne County Family and Consumer Science Agent since March 16 and has plans of upcoming events, but wants to get to know the community first.
“Once I get in and get a feel for the community’s needs, I will put on some programs to help improve the quality of life,” she said.
Some of the program priority areas that Tracy will focus on include health and wellness, aging, marriage, parenting and family life, family and consumer economics, nutrition, food safety and food preservation, and leadership. “I will do educational programs on anything that has to do with consumer sciences,” Tracy said. “This covers a lot of areas and are all research based.”
Tracy will also help with 4-H needs as well as work with the Extension Homemakers Council. “I am looking forward to working with the county,” she said. “It’s my home and I’m glad to be here. Since I plan on being here a long time, I hope I can be a benefit to the community too.”
