  • The Heber Springs Lady Panther softball team beat Cave City 5-4 last Thursday at home and Clinton 11-1 Monday on the road, improving to 4-1 in 2-4A conference play.


    In Heber’s win over Cave City, Skye Miller finished with two hits and a run scored and Alexis Ingram added two RBI, while Hannah Mangum, McKenzie Cresswell and Courtney Verser each drove home a run.

    Courtney Rackley  picked up the win on the mound, scattering 10 hits, walking four and striking out six.

    In Monday’s five-inning win at Clinton,  Sam Temple led the way with two hits, two runs  and a pair of RBIs, while Madi Fires added two hits, two runs and one RBI.

    Miller and Mangum  joined Temple with two RBIs, while Peyton Vineyard scored a team-high three runs to go with an RBI.

    Rackley, now 9-5 for the season, picked up the win, giving up four hits and striking out seven.
