A weekend of festivities kicked off the Spring season in downtown Heber Springs
Local citizens enjoyed Springfest 2012 in downtown Heber Springs this past weekend. Festivities kicked off Friday afternoon on 3rd Street with performances by Imagine That and Thorns & Roses. A political candidate dunking booth was set up for people of all ages to meet their local candidates and get them soaking wet at the same time. Local artists were able to display their talents with the Art/Photography Walk and awards. The night ended with the Springfest Car Cruise Parade.
Saturday was an event filled day in Spring Park. A car and bike show was on display all day as well as booths from various food, art, and other local vendors. There was plenty of entertainment for the kids as well, including face painting, pony rides, and a petting zoo. At 2 pm, the Arkansas Children's Theatre on Tour presented Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood at the Spring Park amphitheatre. The night ended with a rousing performance by Sonny Burgess and the Legendary Pacers.
The last day of Springfest 2012 entertained visitors with the "Heber Springs Got Talent" contest and a butterfly release.
