Arvle Kelcie Bishop died May 25, 2012

Arvle Kelcie Bishop, SMSGT, (U.S. Air Force, Ret.), age 92, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.  Born in Bald Knob on February 16, 1920, he was the son of the late Arvle Leo and Mattie (Jeffery) Bishop.
     Mr. Bishop was a retired cable company employee and a longtime resident of Heber Springs.  He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1966 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.  Mr. Bishop was a member of the Church of Christ.
     His wife, Mary Pauline Parks Bishop, passed away on February 14, 2011.  Other family members who preceded Mr. Bishop in death include his parents; three brothers, Tullie Bishop, Lee W. Bishop, and Lecil Bishop; and one sister, Ina Mae Bishop.
     He is survived by two sisters, Vera Gray  and her husband, Paul, of Searcy and Nina Hughes and her husband, Jerry, of Little Rock. Mr. Bishop is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
     Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Nick Hamilton.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Heber Springs Cemetery.  Tilford Allen, Carl Crow, Bruce Gray, Richie Gray, Jerry Hughes, and Sam Querry will serve as pallbearers.  Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home.
