  • Leonard Ray Clark the son of Wayne G. Clark and Eugenia Clark was born
    in Memphis, Tennessee on November 9, 1928 and passed away on Monday,
    June 4, 2012 at Southridge Nursing and Rehab in Heber Springs at the
    age of 83 years.
    A resident of Heber Springs since 1972 moving here from Memphis,
    Tennessee, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a
    graduate of the University of Arkansas. Len was a businessman and
    entrepreneur. His business interests included heavy equipment, mining,
    cattle, banking, real estate, insurance, concrete, asphalt, waste
    removal, equipment rental, manufacturing, construction and
    development, technical colleges and many others.
    Wherever the locale, around a campfire or in a fishing or hunting
    lodge, or from his favorite place, his home overlooking Greer's Ferry
    Lake, Len held court with his family, friends and visitors sharing
    stories of his own adventures in sports and offering advice to those
    who sought it (and to others who did not) regarding business and
    Len loved his family, his children, grandchildren and his wife Marie
    who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his
    parents and his eldest son Michael Wayne Clark. He is survived by two
    sons Leonard R. Clark, JR. of Jackson, Mississippi and Jimmy Clark and
    wife Peggy of Heber Springs, his daughter in law Sharon G. Clark of
    Conway, six grandchildren Leonard R. Clark III of Oxford, Mississippi,
    Courtney Clark North and husband Aaron of Heber Springs, Jim Clark JR.
    and wife Ashley of Conway, John Clark of Conway, Elizabeth Clark Scott
    and husband Wes of Memphis, Tennessee and Sarah Clark of Conway and
    one great grandson Clark Hoffman North of Heber Springs, besides other
    relatives and many friends.
    A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Family Funeral
    Service, 100 West Searcy Street, Heber Springs from 5:00 until 7:00
    PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the First
    United Methodist Church in Heber Springs, 11th at Pine Street at 1:00
    PM with interment following in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens , 8701
    Hwy 110 West by Rev. Tommy Toombs.
    Pallbearers will be Leonard R. Clark III, Aaron North, Jim Clark JR.,
    John Clark, Wes Scott and Grant Hurst. Honorary pallbearers will be
    Nelson Ladd, Jerry Pilkington, Happy Glover, Doug Nunnery, Larry
    Brewer, Scott Lovett, Mark Dunn, and Thad Robichaux.
    The family requests that memorials be sent to Christian Health Center
    or Heber Springs Methodist Boys Home, 1342 Heber Springs Road South,
