  • Everett W. “Bill” Orr, 83 years old, passed away in his Heber Springs home on Monday, June 4, 2012.  He was born in Clinton, Missouri on June 11, 1928, to the late Julia Ricker Orr and Everett Wesley Orr.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Janis Henson Orr and is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Burns Orr; his daughter, Dana Forsythe and husband Howard; son Dennis Orr and partner Steve Stone; son Darren Orr and partner Ryan Whitmore; as well as stepchildren Rebecca Streett and husband Eric Binsky, Katherine Streett, David Streett, Sarah Streett and husband Adam Boyd; ten grandchildren and many friends.
    After serving as a pilot in the U.S. Navy, Bill graduated from Baker University with a BA in business and subsequently became an executive with Macy’s, Inc., Dillard’s Department Stores and Falcon Jet Corporation, retiring in 1995.  Restless in retirement, Bill soon returned to work, first becoming a realtor for Red Apple Properties, then retiring again at 80 years old as a life member of the Million Dollar Club.  Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs and a Rotarian. 
    Final arrangements for Mr. Orr have been entrusted to the Heber Springs Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service for Bill will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs.  The family has suggested, in lieu of flowers, that donations in Bill’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org, or to Cleburne County Hospice, Arkansas Dept. of Health, 2319 Hwy. 110 W., Suite C, Heber Springs, Arkansas, 72543.
