Back to school shoe drive starts next week

NorthStar EMS, along with the Arkansas Dream Center of Heber Springs will be having a Back-to-School Shoe Drive at local businesses the first two weekends in August.

This drive will provide disadvantaged school-age children new shoes. Donations of new shoes can also be dropped off at The Sun-Times.

Donations of new shoes and money will be accepted on Saturday and Sunday, August 4th and 5th at Fred's Discount Store and on Saturday August 11 at Walmart from 2:00 PM till 4:00PM.

All monetary donations will be used to purchase new shoes. A reminder that August 4th and 5th is tax-free weekend, so new shoes purchased will not be taxed.
