Lynn Cothren died July 27, 2012

Lynn Cothren of Rose Bud at age 92 left this world on Friday, July 27, 2012 to live with his Lord. Born May 26, 1920 in Brownsville, Arkansas to Irvin and Mary Elizabeth (Kemp) Cothren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his childhood sweetheart Juanita (Poole) Cothren, his only brother Keith Cothren and sister-in-law Retha (Hazelwood) Cothren. A World War II Veteran having served in the 333rd Infantry 84th Division; Lynn saw action in the battle of the Bulge, Ardennes, Rhineland and other battles in the European Theatre. He earned the Good Conduct Metal along with an Expert Rifleman Metal. He felt honored to have served his country. Lynn is survived by his wife of 42 years Dean (Bittle) Cothren, stepsons Jeff Scott of Jacksonville, Nathan Murphree and wife Darlene of Rose Bud, Nephew Gary Lynn Cothren of Metamora, Illinois, niece Anita (Cothren) Austin and husband David of Jackson, Tennessee, three granddaughters Misty (Murphree) Allison and husband Scott of Greenbrier, Bridget (Outlaw) Covington and husband Ed of Searcy, Robyn (Outlaw) Stamper and husband Chris of Cabot, two great granddaughters; Raegan Hamilton of Pensacola, Florida and Bailey Stamper; five great grandsons; Luke, Easton and Spencer Allison, Gage Stamper, Ed Covington, JR and wife Brittany of Searcy, and one great great grandson Ethan Covington. One of his great pleasures was refinishing and restoring antiques. He enjoyed buying antiques for resale the 32 years he was in business. He took great pride in his family and loved the time he could spend with all of them. He loved to talk on the scripture anytime he could find someone who would talk with him. Oh how he did love his church Fuller Chapel Primitive Baptist in North Little Rock. Each member was precious to him. When health failed he longed to be able to attend church again. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Family Funeral Service from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and Funeral Services will be on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Family Funeral Service Chapel. Services will be conducted by his Pastor Elder James Winston and Elder James Isaacs. Interment will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Gary Lynn Cothren, Nathan Murphree, Jeff Scot, Willie Morgan, Jonathan Miller, Billy Morgan, Scott Allison, Ed Covington and Chris Stamper. Honorary Pallbearers are Deacons: Laynie Satterfield, Steve Holland, Harold McKim, Pat McGary, Dale Evans, Don Miller and Jim Tolliver.
