  • ‘Bodies in Motion’ is essential for health and wellness.  Yes, it helps us to maintain that all important equilibrium which brings us so much enjoyment in our lives.
    And just think how it brings us pleasure to watch beautiful ‘bodies in motion’ whether in walking, running, figure skating, swimming or even watching trained athletes during the Olympics.
    And then when we are watching those we care most about, it is even so much more enjoyable.  
    Of course there are always bumps in the road, and occasions when the symmetry of the body’s strength and function is interrupted.
    What are we to do then to bring back that lovely symmetry we enjoy so much?
    There is an entire section of the medical community dedicated to this function of the human body.  These are the dedicated professionals called Physical and Occupational Therapists.
    I have long admired their dedication from both sides of the coin.  I was privileged to work with a group of them for a couple of years as an assistant, and I have also availed myself of their dedication and expertise when needed.
    I feel that a special type of person becomes one of these dedicated therapists, and I love their work along with their beautiful results.
    Just what do these therapists accomplish?  Oh, there are so many --just where do I begin?
    Physical therapy is so helpful with postoperative recovery of surgical procedures after cancer or any other surgery, reducing problems associated with surgery, and it also helps to strengthen the body to help a person rejoin his or her  full life.
    After a neurological event of a stroke therapy can be invaluable to assist the person to regain most or even all of the use of his body.
    No matter what has occurred in your life—when you detour from what you want and need to do, therapies are in place to assist you to get back to the life you love.
    What is so valuable about these therapies is that they involve exercise that has been used for years and years to either maintain body strength or to restore it.  This works along with how the body is designed and restores important symmetry, structure and function of the body.
    What types of bumps along the road are these therapies useful for?

    Bowel or Bladder issues
    Balance or mobility issues
    Pre and post surgical strengthening
