Carlos Colby Lathrop, age 85, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at his home. Born in Rochester, Minnesota, on May 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Leander and Edna Amela (Bischoff) Lathrop.
Mr. Lathrop had been a longtime resident of Heber Springs and was a masonry contractor. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Lathrop's religious belief was Presbyterian.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Wyatt Lathrop;two sons, Pete Lathrop and his wife, Kathy,
and Pat Lathrop and his wife, Marni; one daughter, Edna Kennedy and her husband, Bill; eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. Mr. Lathrop is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 7, at Olmstead Funeral Home from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services was held Monday, Oct. 8, at the First Presbyterian Church of Heber Springs at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Al Henager officiating. Interment followed in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Colby Kennedy, Clay Kennedy, Billy Paul Kennedy, Kirkland Lathrop, Casey Paul Kennedy, and Jimmy Mills served as pallbearers. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home. www.olmstead.cc
