In Friday night's 2-3A conference game between two upstart programs, the Little Rock Episcopal Wildcats rode junior running back Trenton Deloach, who scored five touchdowns in the Wildcats' 44-28 victory.
Deloach scored on runs of 36 and 56 yards as Episcopal (3-3, 2-1) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Rose Bud responded when junior quarterback Christian Reynolds found senior receiver Dillon Reesnes wide open for a 26-yard touchdown.
Trailing 21-7 after a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Deloach, Rose Bud countered when Reesnes carried a sweep around the end for a 15-yard touchdown with less than two minutes to play in the first half.
But, Deloach, who finished the game with 24 carries for 281 yards, countered with a 21-yard touchdown run for Episcopal early in the third quarter and the Wildcats added another touchdown and a field goal for a 31-14 lead.
Reynolds finished with 17 carries for 108 yards and two touchdowns, while completing 12-of-21 passes for 186 yards and two more scores with two interceptions.
Junior running back Cole Robertson ran for 49 yards on 14 attempts and made five receptions for 72 yards.
Rose Bud (2-3, 0-3) looks to bounce back against Perryville (1-5, 0-3) on homecoming Friday at Rambler Stadium.
