The Heber Springs Horse Show is holding its finals on October 20 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Kennedy Arena in Quitman. After experiencing two show cancellations due to the rain, the decision was made to move the last show to an indoor arena so that it could be held regardless of the weather.
All participants who have qualified for the finals will be competing for top honors in the four age divisions: PeeWees, Buckaroos, Juniors and Seniors. The top three placings in each age division will win prizes. The other qualifiers will receive participation prizes. The End of Season Awards Program will follow directly after the show.
Event registration will close at 4:45 p.m. sharp and we will kick off with the PeeWee riders garnering for first place in the Walk-Trot event. Other events will be Horsemanship, Flags, Speed, Golf Ball Drop, Key Hole Race, Pole Bending and Barrel Racing. Event registration is $3 per event with a $15 cap; Admission is $2 for adults, $1 kids; 3 and under are free. Negative Coggins will be checked at the gate and no stallions please. Competition attire is casual: boots, jeans/pants, and shirts with sleeves - long or short (no sleeveless or tank tops allowed). Hats are optional. Devotion will be presented by Mountain Top Cowboy Church. For more information, please contact Allen or Denise Schueren at 501-362-5049.
