  • Nick Bacon Memorial dedication

  • On October 6 there was a dedication of a memorial to Nick Bacon at the Heber Springs Ball Parks on the west end of town.

  • On October 6 there was a dedication of a memorial to Nick Bacon at the Heber Springs Ball Parks on the west end of town. The Rotary Club installed a new flagpole, the American Legion Post 64 of Heber Springs and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7514 of Quitman installed a marker as a memorial to Nick Bacon a Congressional Metal of War Veteran from Arkansas.
    This ceremony was attended by State American Legion Commander Mary Erdman and her husband,  Jim Lovell, a representative of Congressman Tim Griffin’s office, American Legion Post 64 Commander Verlon Abram, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7541 Commander Wally Rosier, Nick Bacon’s son Brett Bacon, The Rotary Club of Heber Springs, the American Legion Post 64 Honor Guard, The Suns of the American Legion post 63, The American Legion Auxiliary from post 64 and many other friends.
