  • Hormones have everything to do with nearly all processes and transactions in the body.
As hormones help the entire body, they are connected to each and every organ in the body. There's
not much that takes place in our bodies that do not involve our hormones.
Now, what do hormones have in common with excess body fat?
Doctor Ron Rosedale wrote the book:" The Rosedale Diet." In it he speaks about Leptin as being part of your Hunger Switch. (Remember we discussed this subject a few weeks ago.) In his research we learn that this hormone is regulated by your lifestyle- not meds.
Lifestyle naturally means what you eat and what you do.
Having your hormones balanced, or in the proper ratio makes it possible to live longer, lose weight much easier and then keep it off.
The hormone Leptin is a master regulator of appetite, and works on metabolism.
What are some of the other benefits of balancing your leptin?
Dr. Rosedale says this leads to other healthy benefits such as:
High blood sugar readings, which translate into aging quickly, become normal and thus you can become much healthier.
Body temperature stays in a normal healthy lower range.
Hormonal balance is restored to a more normal youthful level.
This means that type 2 diabetes is improved tremendously-through diet, not medications. Diabetes is considered a disease of aging. So balancing your hormones is considered an anti-aging factor.
    Dr. Mercola tell us:
"Both insulin and leptin resistance are associated with obesity, and impairment of their ability to transfer the information to receptors is the true foundational core of most all chronic degenerative diseases."
WOW!! That tells us a lot!!!
That means that not only is hormonal balance necessary for a slim body, but for all your Health and Wellness requirements too.
    Now, what Exactly is Leptin?
Leptin is a very powerful and influential hormone produced by your fat cells. Your fat, by way of leptin, tells your brain whether you should be hungry, eat and make more fat, whether you should reproduce, or (partly by controlling insulin) and when to engage in maintenance and repair. Therefore, leptin is the way that your fat stores speak to your brain to let your brain know how much energy is available and, very importantly, what to do with it.
How Do You Become Leptin Resistant?
You become leptin-resistant by the same general mechanism that you become insulin-resistant – by continuous overexposure to high levels of the hormone. If you eat a diet that is high in sugar one sugar is fructose, grains, and processed foods – the same type of diet that will also increase inflammation in your body – as the sugar gets metabolized in your fat cells, the fat releases excessive leptin.
Page 2 of 2 - Over time, if your body is exposed to too much leptin, it will become resistant, just as your body can become resistant to insulin.
So, what is the Solution to this problem?
The only known way to reestablish proper leptin and insulin balance is to prevent those excesses or surges, and the only known way to do that is by means of diet. As such, diet can have a more profound effect on your health than any other known modality of medical treatment.
Notice, we are speaking of diet, or your lifestyle—not taking more medicine. This is the very best way of balancing your hormones, and your body size.
A strategic whole food diet, emphasizing good fats, avoids blood sugar spikes &can use targeted nutritional supplements to enhance insulin and leptin sensitivity and balance itself.
Do you think it sounds like you might need hormonal balance?
