Clyde E. Dixon, 84, formerly of Mishawaka, IN passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2012 at Valley View Nursing Home, Elkhart, IN. He was a carpenter with Carpenters Local #413, retiring after 50 years. Clyde previously worked for White Farm Equipment, formerly the Oliver Corporation. He was born on January 12, 1928 in Rosebud, AR to the late Marvin and Alta (Brown) Dixon. On August 26, 1950 in Wilburn, AR, Clyde married Amanda "Juanita" (Lacy) Dixon, who survives.
Along with his loving wife, Juanita Dixon, Clyde is also survived by his daughter, Vickie E. (Ron) Gortney of Elkhart; son, Charles E. (Suzan) Dixon of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Gortney, Jason (Justine) Gortney, Jon (Stacy) Gortney, Sarah (Andy) Minegar, and Joseph (Jessica) Dixon; 12 great grandchildren, Ryan, Lane, Ty, Lucas, Shelby, Payton, Dawson, Tinley, Graham, Ginger, Connor and Oliver; his sister, Dorothy (Wetzel) Stark of Heber Springs, AR; and his sister-in-law, Carol Dixon of Heber Springs, AR. His brother, Billy M. Dixon preceded Clyde in death.
Clyde was a member of First General Baptist Church of Osceola.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Pastor Jeff Little, of South Side General Baptist Church , Mishawaka. Graveside services will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends visited with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
