In 2011 Bertrand's Rental Properties, LLC purchased the old Lorene Hotel, built around 1945, with plans to divide the interior into four condos to be sold individually. The first step was to completely gut the interior of all electrical and plumbing and to salvage the white oak flooring from the top two floors. New trenches had to be excavated in the ground level concrete floor for the new plumbing and literally tons of debris was removed over the first six to eight months. All windows were replaced with energy-efficient double-hung windows and all plaster walls were insulated and covered with fresh sheetrock.
Many creative additions have been made to appeal to the way of living today. Each condo has been wired for security, fire, and cable services. Travertine covers the first floor and all bathrooms. There are wide, spacious staircases and private elevators in each condo. All kitchens will have stone counters and stainless appliances. The laundry room is located in the master bath area. Many "custom" amenities make these condos a true treasure for our Main Street living experience.
On December 7 from noon – 4, a special tour will be given to city and county officials, the Chamber of Commerce, and Realtors.
On December 8, the Spring Park Manor will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for viewing the first completed condo. The project is targeted to be finished in 2013.
