Dec. 17, 2012
It is hard to believe, but the books have closed on the Fall 2012 semester at ASU-Heber Springs. As we look forward to Christmas and the holiday season, a look back is in order...
- Our Associate of Science Degree was approved last summer. We have agreements with ASU-Jonesboro and the University of Central Arkansas for students to transfer to complete baccalaureate degrees in the field.
- The Grant for our Upward Bound program was renewed, and we were able to add a Director, Anthony Robinson. We are very proud to have this program on our campus and to have Mr. Robinson at the helm.
- The Community Education Center at Fairfield Bay celebrated its one-year anniversary. Members of this community can take continuing education classes that are offered year round.
- Tag Green ASU-Heber Springs Welding Instructor, and Nathan Farley, ASU-Heber Springs welding student, were recognized at the Arkansas Association of Two Year Colleges (AATYC) as “Outstanding Faculty Member” and “Academic All Star” for the entire ASU-Beebe University group. We are so proud of these two men and the welding program in general!
I am certain that I have left out much, but the past four months have gone by quickly. Thanks are in order for too many to list here, but our faculty, staff, students, and community have worked hard this fall to make ASU-Heber Springs a great place to learn, and I would like to say “Thank You!”
Have a safe and merry Christmas and holiday season!
