Robbie Jo Stark, widow of Richard G. Stark, Sr., passed away at South Ridge Assisted Living on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. She was retired from the U. S. Postal Service and also a retired businesswoman.
She was born on March 5, 1936, in Lindsay, OK to John Lester Sanders and Beatrice Goodman Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son, James Paul Lynn, three step-children: Deborah Stark Weeks (Gary), Richard G. Stark, (Christine), and Julia Stark Ledbetter (Brent), brothers: Cecil Sanders of Lindsay, OK, and John R. Sanders, Keene, TX. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Merrellyn Stark of Heber Springs, and her son Sean James of Fayetteville, AR., and cousin, Mary Jane Johnson and husband Ricky of Searcy. Other family members who survive are 24 grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
Special friends who survive Robbie are those women whom she fondly called the “Quilting Sisters Group,” and long-time friend, Brenda Seymore Dillion, and her family. Robbie wanted them to know that she didn’t know what she would have done without all of them.
Also, very special to Robbie was her family at Covenant Church; those who were there to support her after the loss of her husband and who remained by her side during her illness. She said,” God has blessed me over and over with all my friends.”
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials be made to the following: Meals on Wheels, Cleburne County Hospice, Stark Family Educational Scholarship Fund at ASU-Heber Springs, Covenant Church, or the charity of your choice.
