  • The National Weather Service has issued the following winter weather advisory:
    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LITTLE ROCK HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 11 AM CST FRIDAY.
    * EVENT...A WEATHER SYSTEM A WEATHER WILL MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS ARKANSAS LATER TONIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY. DUE TO THE EXPECTED AT OR BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES...A MIXTURE OF FREEZING LIGHT RAIN...LIGHT SLEET AND POSSIBLE LIGHT SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE. AT THIS TIME WINTER WEATHER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LOW BUT ANY AMOUNTS DUE TO THE ON GOING POWER OUTAGES AND TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES ACROSS ARKANSAS WILL ADVERSELY AFFECT CONDITIONS.
    * TIMING...AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH MID MORNING FRIDAY.
    * IMPACT...A MIXTURE OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...LIGHT SLEET AND LIGHT SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE WHICH WILL CREATE VERY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. ALSO SOME ADDITIONAL POWER OUTAGES MAY BE SEEN DUE TO THE NUMBER OF TREES ALREADY DOWN ACROSS ARKANSAS FROM THE LAST STORM SYSTEM.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
    A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
