On January 3, local cheer instructor Matthew Tinkle (25) of Heber Springs was arrested and charged with one count of rape. According to a press release from the Heber Springs Police Department, the alleged victim is a female under the age of 14. Details concerning the case are being withheld as an ongoing investigation by the Heber Springs Police Department and the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Unit. Tinkle's bond has been set at $50,000 and, as of press time, is still in custody at the Cleburne County Detention Center.
