  • What appears to have been a police chase in Heber Springs this morning has resulted in a Heber police vehicle crashed off the side of the road near the Claude Dill Office Complex on Hwy 110W. It is unknown if the officer's received injuries in the crash or during the incident prior. No reports yet on the suspect(s) but authorities are looking for at least one person and witnesses have reported hearing shots fired.
One of the suspects, David Junkersfeld, was arrested and is currently in custody at the Cleburne County Detention Center. As of press time, Chris Junkersfeld, is still being sought by the Sheriff's Office. According to Sheriff Marty Moss, authorities attempted to arrest the brothers on active warrants, which led to the chase. The reports of shots being fired were an attempt to shoot the tires of the fleeing vehicle in an attempt to end the chase. We will provide more updates as we learn more.
The officer injured in the chase was Jeff Hiltz of the Heber Springs Police Department. Hiltz was taken to Baptist and released with minor injuries.
