A rash of car break-ins were reported on January 6 from the Anderson Circle area.
On January 4, police responded to a report of a naked man walking around bothering children on S. 5th St. The man was allegedly wearing jeans, but the back was ripped out and he was wearing no underwear. Officers also report that he smelled of alcohol and he allegedly claimed he was part of the neighborhood watch and was watching out for the children. The 43-year-old Wilburn man was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.
Also on January 4, police conducted a traffic stop at Hensley’s Catfish Barn. Both driver and passenger had suspended driver’s licenses. The driver was arrested and charged with Driving on a Suspended License.
A rash of car break-ins were reported on January 6 from the Anderson Circle area. At least 6 reports of auto break-ins were reported with police. Among items stolen from the vehicles were CDs, radar detector, tactical flashlight, hunting knife, wireless headphones, a portable DVD player, and a coin purse containing approximately $25.
Chief Bobby Walker said the timing and location of the break-ins would indicate that they are related. HSPD currently has no suspects but are actively investigating the incidents.
