J.B. Betts, Jr. passed away on January 8, 2013. J.B. was in full time music ministry for over fifty years serving in churches in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. His evangelistic work took him all over the country and countries abroad. He is loved the world over, but no more than by his family.
He is survived by his bride of sixty years, Marion Elaine Syvertsen Betts. They have six children, nineteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren: Daughter Melinda Betts (Heber Springs, AR) and her children Jennifer (husband Jason Lyons and grandson Jake), Benjamin, and Rebecca; son Jerry Betts (Keller, TX) and wife Cindy and their children: Kyle (wife Tasha and granddaughters Faith and Grace), Andrea (husband Ryan Smith), Clarissa (husband Alex Feldt), Kevin (wife Kelley); Daughter Marsha Lacy (Heber Springs, AR) and husband Ed and their children: Kallen, Rachel, Emily, and Kaleb; daughter Mary Turner (Collierville, TN) and husband Jimmy and their children: Amy (husband Jared Austin) and Hunter; daughter Melody Sims (Cleveland, TN) and husband Harrison and their children: Kayla, Blake, Ashley, Aubrey, Maddie, and Lauren; son and pride of his life James Michael Betts.
Service is at Sugarloaf Baptist Church on Saturday, January 12th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests people choose on of the following ministries for a donation in memory of J.B.
