Little Red RiverLindsey's Resort(501-302-3139) said the water is low and clear with no generation. Trout are biting well on wax worms, marshmallows and Power Bait. Fly-fishing has been good with the low flow as well. Just Fishing Guides said water releases have been very low with most days having no generation. Standard winter flies have been working well. Greers Ferry As of Wednesday, the Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake's elevation at 455.73 feet msl (normal conservation pool – 461 msl). Tommy Cauley of Fish Finder Guide Service said the water level is 5.37 feet below normal pool and is rising. The surface water temperature is in the mid-40s. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are scattered. Crankbaits fished along 45-degree banks are working well, as are smaller crankbaits and spinnerbaits fished in shallow cuts. Spoons, jerk baits and the Arkansas claw are all working on suspended deeper fish off points and in the middle of deeper creeks and cuts. A slowly fished football head jig or Carolina rig is working along the points as well. Crappie are biting fairly well on minnows and jigs around timber and brush in about 15 feet of water. Walleye have slowed, but the rising water should make the bite turn on, once the rain clears out. No report on catfish. Hybrid and white bass are biting well on spoons, hair jigs, swimbaits and in-line spinners near schools of shad.
