Alan B. Conrad died January 13, 2013 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born August 8, 1930 in Newton, Kan., he was 82. He was the son of John B. Conrad and Esther Thimm Conrad.He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the 1st Marine Division, Hal Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine.
He is survived by his wife Bendona (Bennie) Oakley Conrad; son Alan B. Conrad II of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kay Marie Everley of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Donna Lee Miller of McLoud, Okla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild besides other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Heber Springs on January 18 at 11 a.m. with Full Military Honors by American Legion Post 64. AS Post Everlasting Service will be held on January 19 at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 64, 49 Park Road in Heber Springs.
