On January 25, officers were dispatched to W. Quitman in response to reports of gunshots in the area and of a man threatening another man with a machete. When they arrived at the residence, the 56-year-old Heber man denied knowledge of the threat but police report seeing a machete on the living room table. They also reported noticing a strong odor of intoxicants. He was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Police questioned the man’s neighbor behind the residence, who was also allegedly involved in the fight. Police learned that the gunshots came from another neighbor who, after questioning, allegedly told officers he fired warning shots into the ground from his upstairs window to break up the fight. Officers report that the 54-year-old Heber man was also intoxicated. He was arrested for discharging a firearm inside city limits.
On January 26, an officer reported seeing a car pull off Rock Products Rd with a taillight partially lit. He followed the car to River Chase trailer park and, after running the vehicle’s tags, learned they had expired in 2010 and also belonged to a KIA rather than the Toyota Camry to which they were attached. The officer spoke to both occupants and ran their license numbers. The driver, a 39-year-old Wilburn man, was reported to have warrant and also a suspended drivers license. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Upon searching the car, the officer reported finding a plastic baggie with a white powdery substance. When he questioned the passenger, a 25-year-old Heber woman, she is reported to have told the officer that she had a marijuana pipe in her shirt. After she was arrested she is alleged to have told officers she had also had marijuana and possibly some pills in her shirt. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Also on January 26, police received a report of a break in at a storage unit at Arrow Head Storage. The renter stated the lock had been cut off the unit. She provided police with a list of the missing items and serial numbers for som
