Louis Muirl Pierce died February 12, 2013

     Lois Muirl Pierce, age 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.  Born at Quitman, Arkansas, on March 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl (Swaffar) Kennedy.
     Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and a former resident of Quitman.  Her religious belief was Baptist.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Pierce, on December 1, 1996; by her parents; and by four sisters, Audra Sublett, Elfreda Johnston, Edith Cooper, and Wanda Sue Kennedy.
     Mrs. Pierce is survived by one son, Jerry Pierce and his wife, Karen, of Drasco;
one daughter, Beverly Harralson and her husband, Deryl, of Jonesboro; three sisters, Carolyn Poff Peeden of South Carolina, Linda New of Quitman, and Donna Bogle of Louisiana;
and one granddaughter, Abby Harralson. Mrs. Pierce is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.  
     Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home.  Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15, at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Bro. Terry Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Quitman.  Darrell Logan, Wayne Moore, Noel Lacy, Haroldean Lacy, Wildred Southerland, and Paul Hartwick served as pallbearers.  Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Heber Springs.  www.olmstead.cc
