The Heber Springs Junior Lady Panthers ended Tuesday's Junior Panther Relays in a stalemate with Vilonia as both schools posted a total of 132.5 points at Panther Stadium.
The Heber Springs Junior Lady Panthers ended Tuesday's Junior Panther Relays in a stalemate with Vilonia as both schools posted a total of 132.5 points at Panther Stadium. Alison Thomas led Heber with 32 individual points, including a first-place finish in the High Jump (4'7”). Thomas also took runner-up in both the Long Jump (14' 7.75”) and 300 hurdles (52.81), plus finished third in the 100 hurdles (18.01). Heber's Stephanie Music placed runner-up in the High Jump (4'7”) by virtue of a tie with Thomas and Music also accumulated points in the Long Jump (4th, 14'7.75”), Triple Jump (29'7.25”) and 100 (8th, 15.00). Erin Rezanka placed in three events, including the 100 (3rd, 14.34), 200 (5th, 30.74) and 400 (6th, 1:15.10), behind teammate Millie Wilson, who placed third in the 400 with a time of 1:11.07. Wilson also finished runner-up in the 1600 (6:00.07), while Grace Lehfeldt took seventh (6:11.95). Seventh-grader Serena Pruitt placed second in the 800 with a mark of 2:47.82, just ahead of Gilbrech, who completed the race with a time of 2:48.56. Courtney Kendall chipped in a fourth-place finish in the 300 hurdles (55.13) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (18.33). Rounding out Heber's point total, Ashley Smith tied for third in the Pole Vault, clearing 7'5”, while Megan Armstrong took sixth in the Discus with a heave of 59' 6”. Heber's 4x100 relay team of Kendall, Music, Alexis Evans and Rezanka placed second with a time of 55.75 and Heber's 4x400 relay team of Lauren Lynch, Smith, Wilson and Thomas also finished runner-up with a time of 4:42.47. The Jr. Lady Panthers' 4x800 relay team consisting of Lehfeldt, Erin Holland, Gilbrech and Kendall placed third at 11:36.26. Following Heber and Vilonia, Southside Batesville (110.83) placed third as a team, Beebe was fourth (44), just in front of Greenbrier (43.5). The Junior Panthers placed third overall with 80 points as Hunter Drexler led the charge with a combined 26 points. Drexler won first place in the 800 (2:19.61) and 1600 (5:06.54), while taking third in the 400 with a time of 57.25. Heber eighth-grader Pierce Mitchum placed in three events, including the 100 (5th, 12.21), 200 (6th, 26.65) and Long Jump (4th, 17'6.5”). Patrick Hill finished third in the Pole Vault (9'6”) and sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.06, while Justin Feemster took sixth in the 110 hurdles (19.78). Heber's Luke McGowan finished third in the Shot Put (40' 5”) and the 4x800 relay team of Garett Alaniz, Hill, Drexler and Joey Tankersley placed runner-up with a time of 4:12.28. The Junior Panthers' 4x800 relay team of Peyton Vowels, Garrett Luibel, Hill and Drexler finished second (9:47.61) and the 4x100 team of Feemster, Alaniz, Eddie Torres and Mitchum took fourth at 49.94.
