“I don’t know where I am, and how did I get here?”   There are times in our lives when we have no idea where we are going or how we arrived at a certain location.

Without distinct direction and especially in unfamiliar territory, our traveling experience can become difficult and somewhat frustrating.

However, today most of us are fortunate to own a GPS (global positioning system) which is used for determining a precise location and providing a highly accurate speed and time.  Ultimately, it makes it easier in getting to our destination. Oftentimes, we think we know the direction and details of our life and we head off without consulting God. We immediately start searching for shortcuts and bypasses, hoping that these can make life’s journey a lot easier. Unfortunately, we end up at a dead end or an unfamiliar place overwhelmed with disappointment and frustration.

Psalms 25:4 echoes this truth:  “Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow.” (NLT)

When unfavorable things happen in our lives and we are forced to redirect our journey, we must trust and rely on our spiritual GPS (God’s positioning system).  He is familiar with the territory and He knows what lies ahead.  His directions are very detailed, giving us mile markers and specific landmarks to guide us alone the way.  He instructs us on when to be cautious, stop, or when to go.

He even alerts us when to detour if there is construction ahead or if there has been an accident.  God will safely lead us to our destination.

Our Heavenly Father never intended for us to travel our journey without his directions.  He has simply instructed us to rely on Him while navigating us through life’s circumstances.  If we follow His directions we will never get off our path and lose our way.

Trust Him today!  His navigational skills are unfailing; and they are much more dependable than our own self direction.
