On Sunday, Heber police conducted a routine traffic stop on Hwy 110 for a brake light violation. When the officer spoke to the driver, Joseph Keith May, 35, of Heber Springs, he reportedly smelled an odor of intoxicants. When May was questioned about it, he is reported to have admitted to the officer that he had consumed a couple of beers earlier in the day. The officer ran May’s driver’s license information through dispatch and learned that he was driving on a suspended driver’s license. In addition to the suspended license, the officer also learned that May had felony warrants out of New Jersey for probation violation and revocation of probation. He also had a misdemeanor warrant out of Cabot. May was arrested on the warrants and also charged with driving on a suspended license.
