You may be standing at a crossroad in your life, struggling with which direction to take. You may be experiencing a season of loneliness, abandonment and rejection. But, I assure you, that you are not alone.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Not long ago, upon entering the grocery store, I met a lady who was at a place in her life where she was faced with making a difficult decision. As she proceeded to share her story, I began to reflect upon the story of Jesus when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, facing one of the most difficult times of his life. He was greatly distressed and troubled, because the weight of the world was upon Him. Overwhelmed by the thought of our sins and His coming suffering, He looked upon himself a brutal death that He sweat big drops of blood. I can only imagine my Savior’s indescribable pain, as He suffered the bitter agony of being alone, abandoned and betrayed. Yet, He was at a crossroad having to make a decision that would affect the whole world. Just hours away from facing the old rugged cross, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou will.”
You may be standing at a crossroad in your life, struggling with which direction to take. You may be experiencing a season of loneliness, abandonment and rejection. But, I assure you, that you are not alone and no matter what has happened in your life, God accepts you and He loves you the way you are. He has designed you in a unique and special way, and only you can fulfill the plans and dreams that He has ordained for your life.
Jesus did not give up even though his suffering was very intense. He realized it was all for a purpose.
No matter how dark and dreary it may seem, don’t give up before you get your answer. Choose to wait on God at the crossroad, even if it doesn’t make sense. God can see the full picture and He knows the final results, therefore, rest in him and find comfort knowing that He will lead you down the straight path.
