  •      William Emanuel (Bill) Hall, age 90, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Searcy Healthcare Center in Searcy, Arkansas.   Born in Heber Springs on August 13, 1922, he was the son of the late William Emanuel Hall and Mozelle Allison Hall.
Bill Hall, known to family and friends alike as "Dub," grew-up in the Heber Springs area and married Hazel Marr on May 13, 1942.  Bill did a brief stint in the CCC, eventually moving to Kansas where he raised his family of four children and spent his working life.  Bill was in the Teamsters Union and enjoyed driving trucks.  He retired as a truck driver for Dillon Stores of Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1986 and moved back to Heber Springs in 1988.
Bill enjoyed hunting squirrels, rabbits, and pheasants in the fall with his two sons as well as fishing various lakes in Kansas with all of his family.
Bill and Hazel traveled extensively after retirement in a camper and later in a fifth wheel trailer.  For several years, they never missed an annual trip to the west coast to visit family.  After his beloved Hazel passed in August of 2007, he lost interest in most activities.
Bill prided himself on being a "man of his word" and when he gave his word, you could depend on it.  He will be remembered and missed by family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Irene Marr Hall, who passed away August 22, 2007; two brothers, Odean Hall and Joe Hall; two sisters, Jean Gates and Helen Stilson; and one son-in-law, Bryan Schlegel.
Bill is survived by four children, Ronnie L. Hall and his wife, Linda, of Boring, Oregon, Jimmie E. Hall and his wife, Coral, of Belgrade, Montana, Judy A. Schlegel of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Kathy T. Frank of Rogers; and he was also blessed by 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held Monday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home.   www.olmstead.cc
