Heber Springs squeaked past Dardanelle 2-1 in a 10-inning game back in early March. Fast-forward 24 days and the Lady Panthers proved to be the most improved team, overpowering the Lady Sand Lizards 7-2 while completing a home and home season sweep on Thursday at the Heber Springs Sports Complex. Heber took a 1-0 lead in the first inning then busted the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth, when the Lady Panthers scored five runs. The Lady 'Lizards responded with two runs in the top half of the fifth to pull within four at 6-2, but Heber added an insurance run in the bottom half and cruised behind sophomore pitcher Courtney Rackley (5-4), who limited Dardanelle to only two hits while striking out seven and only issuing one walk in seven innings of work. Catcher Hannah Mangum led the Lady Panthers at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with three RBI. Shortsop Alexis Ingram (2-for-2) also collected two hits while scoring one run and driving home another. Heber got production up and down the lineup as Skye Miller (1-for-3) Courtney Verser (1-for-2), Bridget Muse (1-for-3), Makenzie Martin (1-for-3) and McKenzie Cresswell (1-for-3) each delivered a base hit and scored one run. Kaitlyn Bradke (1-for-3) added a 2 RBI base hit for the Lady Panthers, who host an invitational tournament this weekend.
