James F. Chapman, 79, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, born August 10, 1933, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs. He was also a member of Arkansas Hospital Engineers Association. He proudly served in the United States Navy. James worked at Yarnell’s Ice Cream Company while attending school in Searcy. He was a Boy Scouts leader and children’s Sunday school teacher. James loved to do yard work, grow flowers and cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Laura (Brown) Chapman, son James Franklin Chapman, Jr. and brother John Hayward Chapman.
James is survived by his wife Carleen (Cunningham) Chapman; son Michael Alan Chapman (spouse Dawn) of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and daughter Laura Jean Baker (spouse Kenneth) of Pasadena, Maryland. He is also survived by grandchildren Kayla Gail Baker and Leslie Baker of Maryland; Clara April Chapman, Somer Lynn Chapman, all of Alexandria, Louisiana; Blaine Chapman of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren Coral Hailey Clark, Camelle Clark and Corey Clark, all of Alexandria, Louisiana; and brother Lowell Thomas Chapman (spouse Donna) of North Little Rock.

Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs.
