  • Heber Springs handled its final 2-4A Conference game with ease, drumming Pine Bluff Dollarway's Lady Cardinals 17-0 to claim a share of the league title along with Southside Batesville and Lonoke. By virtue of runs scored in meetings with Heber and Lonoke, Southside Batesville won the tiebreaker and takes the top seed into this week's district tournament, which will be held Thursday-Saturday at the Heber Springs Sports Complex. The Lady Panthers open tournament play at 6 p.m. on Thursday. In Friday's win at Dollarway, Courtney Rackley (9-6), McKenzie Cresswell and Makenzie Martin each pitched one inning, combining for seven strikeouts while only allowing one hit. Heber only finished with five hits as the Dollarway pitchers struggled to find the strike zone, resulting in 13 walks and three hit batters. First base player Kaitlyn Bradke (2-for-2) led the Lady Panthers' offense, finishing 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Skye Miller, who stole three bases, added 2 runs and 2 RBI, while Cresswell scored 3 runs and drove home 2 more. Alyssa Bishop (1-for-3) had a big 3 RBI base hit for the Lady Panthers, while Youjeong Song scored 1 run to go with an RBI. Carlie Ludwig also scored 1 run in Heber's 17-0 victory.
