  • Recently the piano that was damaged in the fire earlier this year returned home to First Baptist Church in Heber Springs, completely rebuilt by Barry Bradshaw of Conway..    
     
     A Piano Dedication concert will be held  Sunday - June 23 - 6:00 PM, with reception to follow to meet Mr Bradshaw and our Guest Artist Peggy Pearson.
     
    Peggy Pearson is a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and currently resides there in the Historic Park Hill area. She is a musician and teacher with the purpose of nurturing church musicians for God's kingdom. Ms. Pearson teaches private piano and flute lessons through her studio named "Jubal's Lyre," from the scripture, Genesis 4:21, "Jubal...was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe." She plays and teaches at Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock, works as contract Keyboard Consultant for the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Leadership & Worship Team, and is available as a pianist and flutist for weddings, programs, and other special events.
     
    Ms. Pearson received her Masters of Church Music in piano performance from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, and her Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Through her twenty-eight years with the ABSC Music Department she played and taught all over Arkansas and several states, including Music Week at Ridgecrest and Glorieta Conference Centers. She has been involved with playing, teaching, and leading in the ABSC-sponsored summer music camps for thirty-six years. Ms. Pearson continues this tradition, as well as consultations in the keyboard area for churches and church musicians.
