Frank M. Shipley Sr., 69 of Tumbling Shoals went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was born in Bisbee, Arizona on Sunday, July 11, 1943 to the late George Alvin Shipley and the late Johanna Shipley Polk. Frank is a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee. He was an active member of the Chastain Chapel General Baptist Church and was a former 3rd degree Master Mason at the Raleigh Blue Lodge.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Angela Shipley; his children, Frank M. Shipley Jr. and Saundra Shipley Carmony both of Memphis, Tennessee, Steven Westerner of Gulf Coast; his sisters, Gerry Shipley of Quitman, Arkansas, Wanda Kartchner of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren, James Arnett, Westley Brock, Randall Shipley; his loyal K-9 companion, Dottie Jo; other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Shipley will be remembered for having a true Christian heart, his strength of character, his deep bass voice and his love of animals. Visitation for Frank will begin at Noon, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Chastain Chapel General Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the church with interment following the services at Chastain Chapel Cemetery. The family has asked in lieu of flowers for donations be made in Frank’s memory be made to St. Jude Hospital.
