A 41-year-old Missouri man drowned in Greers Ferry Lake on Sunday

Summer began with a tragic incident at Greers Ferry Lake on Sunday.  At approximately 2:50pm, emergency services responded to a report of a possible drowning at Sandy Beach in Heber Springs.  According to reports, a 41-year-old Missouri man was attempting to swim to shore from a boat when he disappeared from sight.  The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office reports he was treated at the scene and transported to the emergency room at Baptist hospital in Heber, where he was pronounced dead at 4pm.  The man’s name has not been released as of press time.
