WHAT IS YOUR LABEL
What is your label in life,
That others have stuck on you?
Why do you settle for it?
That is not what you should do.
A label accepted is detrimental
And will limit your own success.
You will tend to fulfill your label,
And it will keep you from being blessed.
You are Irish and your red hair proves it,
Your temper you can not help.
You love to drink and fight,
And they will never hear you yelp.
You live on the other side of the tracks,
You are like all the others.
You are limited by your color,
You are like all the brothers.
This is two examples of bunk,
Please do not accept it as true.
You do not need a label,
They are not intended for you.
Your place in life can be a label,
If you let others make it true.
There is a way to repel any label,
It does not have to apply to you.
Jesus is your answer,
There is a true label He gives.
You can be a child of God,
When you learn, Jesus lives.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, *
There is neither slave nor free.
There is neither male nor female,
Jesus said when you come to me.
God is no respecter of people, **
He invites you to come to him.
Your life should follow God’s pattern,
Not your label given by them.
