  • West Side clobbered Conway Christian 9-3 on Monday night in an extended high school game in Greers Ferry as right-handed pitcher Bryce Hipp limited the visiting Eagles to four hits while striking out four and walking one in seven innings. The home standing green and white Eagles, who built a 9-0 lead before Conway Christian scored three runs in the seventh inning, jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the third. Bryce Hipp led off with a walk and stole second and third to ignite West Side. With one out, Hipp scored on Mason Treece's RBI sacrifice-fly. West Side busted the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth by scoring five runs on five hits, starting when Mason Treece singled. Tyler Cowley followed with a single to center and CC committed a fielding error, which allowed Treece to score easily. Kory Johnson added an RBI single to left field that scored Cowley then Andrew Houston walked, which loaded the sacks for Bryce Hipp, who pulled a breaking ball to left field for a 2 RBI single that plated Johnson and Houston. With one out, Dalton Treece roped an RBI single to center that scored Hipp as West Side's lead grew to 6-0 before the visiting Eagles escaped. West Side tacked on three insurance run in the bottom half of the fifth as Mason Treece walked, Cowley ripped a single to right field and Johnson walked to load the bases. After Mason Treece scored on a wild pitch, Conway Christian retired two straight before Dalton Treece nailed a 2 RBI single to right field, scoring Johnson and Blaine “Pepper” Hipp while pushing their lead to 9-0. The Treece twins paced the Eagles at the plate. Mason finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and 2 runs, while Dalton Treece (2-for-3) also produced two hits and a game-high 3 RBI.
