  • Estel “Pete” C. Robbins, 86 of Greers Ferry passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013.  “Pete’ was born Monday, February 7, 1927 in Moorehead, Kentucky to the late Henry and Cora Porter Robbins.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jansky Robbins and a son, Ronald Robbins.  He was of the Methodist faith.
     
    Mr. Robbins served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 in the South Pacific on the Admiral T Islands.   After the Navy, “Pete” worked construction as a laborer and retired in 1989 from Labor Local 75 in Joliet, Illinois then he moved to Greers Ferry.  “Pete” enjoyed his life in Greers Ferry where he spent time on the lake and enjoyed fishing. 
     
    Mr. Robbins is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judith Robbins; two daughters, Darlene Calkins and her husband Mark, Delores Ottmeier and her husband Bill, daughter-in-law, Sharon Robbins; special nephew, Mark Littlejohn and his wife Barb; special niece, Judi Wermer and her husband Greg; 2 sisters; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
