  • According to a recent Vanity Fair/CBS news poll 49% of Republicans got it wrong about what G.O.P means. According to the Republican web page G.O.P., stands for Grand Old Party, the nickname oft the Republican Party which originally stood for Gallant Old Party.
Some titles which seem more appropriate.:
    Grand Order of Priority
"My first priority is to make Obama a one term president"
    Grand Old Prevaricators
"There is no doubt Saddam possesses and conceals weapons of mass destruction."
"The Bush 2001 tax cuts will stimulate the economy, create jobs, provide more money for education, balance the budget, and create a $2 million dollar surplus."
"I have here in my hand a list of 205 members of the Communist Party working and shaping policy in the State Department."
    Gems Of Profanity
Vice-President Cheney to Senator Leahy "f..k yourself." When ask about the statement a few days later on the Dennis Miller show Cheney responded "that's sort of the best thing I ever did." Cheney served 8 years as Vice President, Secretary of Defense 4 years, Chief of Staff for President Ford 3 years, and was a member of Congress 10 years. Historians will most likely agree with Cheney the best thing he did in 25 years of government service, 8 of which were just a heartbeat away from being president, could be summed up in the two profane words he uttered to Senator Leahy--"f..k yourself."
John Boehner current Republican Speaker of the House, member of Congress 22 years, 18 years in leadership positions, the last 7 as Republican leader as he was going into a meeting on taxes a few steps from the oval office pointed his finger at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and said: "Go f..k yourself."
Give Often and give millions to Pac's
Of the $4,352,180 donated by individuals or companies in Arkansas to super PAC's in 2012 more than $4 million was given by the heirs of Sam Walton and members of the Stephens family to various Republican super PAC's including $1.5 million to Republican Karl Rove's American Crossroads.
    Greed over People
Dozens of Wall Street Securities firms engaged in securities fraud due to less Republican regulations which cost taxpayers $800 billion in TARP funds
    Gridlock Over People

During the 43 years from 1939 to 1982 cloture was invoked a total of 58 times and there
were twelve years when cloture was not invoked a single time.
    Guns Over People
The NRA has never supported a Democrat for president
In 2012 the NRA contributed $583, 646.000 to 236 Republican Congressional candidates
Page 2 of 2 - and contributed $74,000.00 to 25 Democrat Congressional candidates.
    Good Old Patriots
A chicken hawk is defined as a "politician who promotes war but declined to serve in the
military during wartime." A partial list of well known Republican chicken hawks.
Politicians: Karl Rove, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney and his 4 sons, Dick Cheney, John Ashcroft, Roy Blunt, Tom DeLay, Bill Frist, Newt Gingrich, John Kyl, Trent Lott, Mitch McConnell, Rick, Santorum, Pat Buchanan, Richard Shelby
Media/others: Rush Limbaugh, Bill O"Reilly, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, Ralph Reed, Ted Nugent, Kenneth Starr, Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia.
John Kerry served as the officer in charge of a Swift Boat in 1968-69 and was awarded the Silver Star, The Bronze Star and 3 purple hearts for his combat service in Vietnam
George Bush became an officer in the Texas Air National Guard in May 1968, which exempted him from combat service in Vietnam.
Thirty Five years after Kerry was awarded his 5 combat medals in Vietnam chicken hawk Karl Rove with $17 million dollars from a group of Texas millionaires convinced the American voters Bush was better qualified to be Commander In Chief of the armed forces than Kerry. Bush, Cheney, and Rove led America into two unnecessary wars which cost thousands of American soldiers their lives, American taxpayer $4 to $6 trillion and cost thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan their lives.
