Jerry Ivy died July 30, 2013

Jerry Max Ivy, age 69, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.  Born at Five Mile, Arkansas, on February 18, 1944, he was the son of the late B. O. and Vyine (Howard) Ivy.
     A longtime resident of Heber Springs, Jerry Max was a retired barber.  He had served in the community in a variety of activities and organizations, including as a volunteer fireman, a member of the Young Businessmen's Association, a thirty-second degree Mason, and a Shriner.  Jerry Max proudly served our country and was a veteran of the United States Navy, Army, and National Guard, and he was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War.  He was a member of the South Cross Roads Church and a Gideon.  
     Jerry Max is survived by
his wife, Velma Landreth Ivy of Heber Springs;
two daughters, Shannon Martin and husband, Danny, of Heber Springs
  and Jeneen "J. J." McPherson and husband, Brady, of Sherwood;
one sister, Doris Davis of West Memphis;
four grandchildren, Makenzie Martin, Adam Martin, Colton McPherson, and Bailey Anne McPherson;
and his nieces and nephews.
Jerry Max is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
     Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 1, at Olmstead Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 2, at South Cross Roads Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Rolland, Jr. officiating.  
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, South Cross Roads Church, or Cleburne County Library.
