The Quitman Branch Library, located in the new Reynolds Community Building, will be hosting an open house on Friday, August 23 from 6-8pm. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be available.
In addition to the library, the building also houses a safe room that will be available for use by the public should the community be threatened with severe weather, such as a tornado. It also houses vehicles for Quitman’s emergency services.
Library cards are free and anyone interested in obtaining one should take some form of photo ID with a current address. If your ID doesn’t have a current address, take a utility bill, phone bill, etc., as proof of residence. The cards are available to any Cleburne County resident, people that work in the community, people that own property in the community, and in surrounding communities adjacent to Cleburne County.
The new library is located at 5904 Heber Springs Rd West (Hwy 25) in Quitman and is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon to 4:30. It is also open on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. If you would like more information about the branch, contact them at 501-589-2332.
