Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is hosting one of its most popular events in Helena on Aug. 27. The event is called a policy café and it will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at UAMS East.
Join policy experts and child advocates as they talk about all the most important issues facing children and families in Arkansas. Learn more about the issues that matter most to you, from health care to juvenile justice, education to child welfare. It is an opportunity share ideas about how to make Arkansas a better place for low-income families.
As an added bonus, representatives from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and the No Kid Hungry campaign will be on hand to lead a discussion about how hunger ties into early childhood education. They'll also cover topics like after-school meals, school breakfast, cooking matters, SNAP outreach, and more.
