A.J. Kramer, a freshman at Heber Springs High School and guitarist, recorded his first CD at Willie Mitchell’s Royal Studios in Memphis, TN.
A.J. Kramer, a freshman at Heber Springs High School and guitarist, recorded his first CD at Willie Mitchell’s Royal Studios in Memphis, TN. Royal Studios is one of the most successful producers of music worldwide. Boo Mitchell, manager and engineer at Royal Studios mastered AJ’s CD. Carl Blue Wise, producer, songwriter and owner of Blueboy Records in Memphis, produced AJ’s CD. Carl has been in every facet of the music industry since the Stax Glory days.
After A.J. Kramer recorded at Royal Studios, he played the blues with Jack Rowell &TripLThret Band later that evening. The Jack Rowell Band will be performing in the 2013 International Blues Challenge. Jack was so impressed with AJ’s performance, he invited him to return to play the guitar the following night at The Thrill at Neil’s with Jack Rowell and Friends at Neil’s Music Room. Jack Rowell hosts Thursday nights at Neil’s Music Room where the best musicians in Memphis and the Mid-South go to play and hear live music. A.J. played Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and was accompanied by outstanding musicians. All of these veteran musicians were impressed by AJ’s amazing guitar skills to be only 15 years old. They were very encouraging and supportive and invited him to come back and play with them again soon.
A.J. takes guitar lessons from Charlie White and Rick Gardner at Red River Music Company in Heber Springs. A.J. is also in the Heber Springs Band and Jazz Band at Heber Springs High School and plays piano.
