  • Bobbie Jean King Ballard age 83, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Tuesday September 24, 2013, at her home, 224 Pine Snag Road in Heber Springs, Arkansas, with her family by her side.
Born on April 14, 1930, at Longview, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Coy C. and Vertie King. She grew up in Longview, where she met the love of her life, Louis M. Ballard which she later married on June 5, 1948. They were in business for their self with service stores in Longview, which they later sold. They moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, and expanded their business and opened 15 Fil-A-Bil Service Stores in which she worked in the office with the book keepers. In 1966 they sold all their stores in Shreveport and moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and opened 5 more Fil-A-Bil Service Stores here in Pine Bluff. After selling those stores they went into Ballard Real Estate and opened apartments here in Pine Bluff, where she worked in the office there.
Louis and Bobbie enjoyed an active life. They enjoyed taking vacations and loved family gatherings. Their 4 grandchildren were the apple of their eyes. They were both very active in their church in Shreveport and Pine Bluff. After moving to Heber Spring 2 years ago she was an active member of First Baptist church in Heber Springs, until she started having health problems. She was a Baptist and has been a prayer warrior for so many people for many years. She loved everyone and you could always count on her for prayers for any health or problems you had. She loved the Lord with all her heart and has been thru several major surgeries which she always said that Jesus was sitting right on her shoulder and as long as she had him surgery was no problem.
On June 19, Father’s Day 1994, she lost the love of her life as he was called to the Lords house on this very special day for a very special husband and dad. She put up a very hard fight this time as she needed to have another open heart surgery to have her valve replaced. She was also dealing with only one kidney working at 12 %. These are 2 major surgeries and she tried her best, but at her decision she told us she was too tired to go thru the surgery which we agreed. She wanted to go home to enjoy her home in Heber Springs until she could go to the Big House. She will be excited to see her beloved husband and all her family and friends that will be greeting her as Jesus carries her home.
She leaves behind 2 daughters and their families: Brenda and Kirk Krack of Pine Bluff,  Linda and Allen Trussell of Heber Springs. She has 4 grandchildren; Chrystal & Mike Duncan of Monticello, Arkansas, Tracy & JoAnna Krack of Fayetteville Arkansas, Staci & Bart Robinson of Lewisville Texas and Tiffany Stanfield of Alexander, Arkansas. She has 3 great grandsons; Micah Duncan, Malachi Duncan and Brayden Krack. She has one sister, Dale Bloodworth of Longview Texas.
