When we go to buy our groceries these days we are inundated with packages of every size, color and shape. As we know these packages are termed processed foods.
Just what are processed foods? They are made in factories and are marketed to us to be for our so called, convenience. But know that they contain chemicals, additives, franken-foods-, artificial flavorings. artificial colorings and artificial enhancers. When foods are processed they lose much of their natural food value, which short changes us, except for the then added chemicals mentioned in the previous sentence. That doesn't sound very convenient or even appetizing to me.

Today we are discussing a few real whole foods that we can 'Eat 4 Real,' without them being processed by destroying the nutritional value and then adding chemicals that interfere with our valuable health and wellness.
Avocados are a wonderful whole natural food. They are perfect just the way they are. The right kind of fats are so important for most of the transactions that take place in our bodies. Avocados have the right kind of fat, and can go to work for us naturally, just they way they are. Some ways to enjoy them is to slice and put in salads, or on top of some soups, or made into guacamole, with absolutely no chemicals added to them at all. I love to make a fantastic dressing using fresh avocados. Hummm-good.
Berries are a wonderful food group. They are low on the glycemic index which means they will not spike our blood sugar. Yet, they are chock full of phyto-chemicals as well as a host of defense fighting antioxidants. Be sure to get all the colors of the rainbow with your berries, and do not forget the deep darker colors for an added antioxidant defense.
Cruciferous whole vegetables, such as kale are a wonderful addition to our diet. They give our immune systems a great boost and kale, for one, has vitamins K, A. vitamin C fiber and calcium. The American Cancer Society recommends them to fortify the body against cancer/
One easy recipe is to make kale chips. Rip kale up, rub a little extra virgin olive oil into the kale pieces, sprinkle some of your favorite seasoning and then bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes- to create another favorite chip for your family to nibble. Please do your own research about cruciferous vegetables.
Make sure you get plenty of fresh clean water to make sure your body is able to rid itself of toxins. You may add a little fresh squeezed lemon to your morning water to assist your liver to cleanse. Additionally, this is a great aid in jump starting your digestive system in the morning.

Nuts are another great food group. Just make sure they are fresh raw and natural. Yes, I know they are very dense in calories and fat, but they are so helpful in many ways. A few nuts as a between meal snack will help stabilize your blood sugar. Just make sure you do not overdo.
Almonds are considered a perfect nut, and I use them to make almond milk. (I also eat raw almonds as a great snack) For almond milk, I just throw a few (about l/. cup into my blender, add a little water and make my own) You may pour boiling water over them for 5 minutes and then pinch the skins off-if you wish, but, I like them left on. Please suit yourself.
Greens are a fantastic food category. I like to get organic greens, just wash and add a couple of handfuls to my morning smoothie or nutriblast. Then I add a few nuts, seeds and one handful of berries—then blend. No chemicals are added at all. It is just completely pure fantastic nutrition.
Now when you go to get your groceries, look for real foods in all shapes and colors that are wrapped in god given packages.
Do your own research and add great, nutritionally packed whole foods to your daily menu.
