Sharon Cothren died October 6, 2013

Sharon Gale Finch Cothren, age 66, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, at her home. She was born February 11, 1947, in Heber Springs to Arthur (Boone) Ray and Anna Lee (Verser) Finch.
Sharon was a graduate of West Side Public School, University of Central Arkansas, and University of Memphis.
She was a retired teacher. She taught 28 1/2 years. She taught math at Heber Springs High School, Bryant High School, Van Buren High School, Briarcrest Middle School in Memphis, Tennessee, and Olive Branch High School, Mississippi.
She loved sports. She played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She loved to sew. She made many things for family and friends. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Arkansas Revival Choir and Kings Daughters in Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur (Boone) Ray Finch; father-in-law, Walton Vance (Buddy) Cothren; and mother-in-law, Atha Lee (Wood) Cothren.
Sharon is survived by
her husband of 48 years, James Woody Cothren of Greers Ferry;
sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Abbie Cothren of Pittsboro, North Carolina,
Greg and Jackie Cothren of Maumelle, Arkansas,
and Scott and Courtney Cothren of Conway, Arkansas;
her mother, Anna Lee (Verser) Finch;
two brothers, David Finch and Jack Finch and wife, Marsha;
and nine grandchildren, Kevin, Zack, and Brylee Cothren,
Clayton Baker, Michael Beach, Cristi Dearasaugh,
and Savannah, Jaxon, and Caidon Cothren.
Sharon is also survived by brother-in-law, Van Cothren and wife, Sandra;
and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the West Side Baptist Church at Greers Ferry. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the West Side Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Dr. Bill Brown. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home.
