Wilma Madeline Majors, age 84, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Brownsville, Arkansas, on September 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Bittle Verser.
A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Mrs. Majors was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church at Brownsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Majors; an infant granddaughter, Wilma Ellen Majors; one brother, Woodrow Verser; and two sisters, Georgia Verser and Mary Dean Lair.
Mrs. Majors is survived by
two sons, Terry Majors and wife Gayla of Tumbling Shoals
and T. Gary Majors and wife Jan of Greers Ferry;
one sister, Fanatta Gallaway of Brownsville;
four grandchildren, Marilyn Sneed and husband Brad, Elizabeth Langrell and husband Todd, Justin Majors and wife Ginger, and Andrea Majors;
and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Majors is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 29, at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, at Shiloh Cross Roads Church at 10:00 a.m. with Gregg Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery. Justin Majors, Rick Majors, Ronnie Majors, Burl Jay Majors, Jerry Joe Carr, J. L. Stone, and Doug Verser will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Majors, Larry Gallaway, and Dan Verser.
